George Edward Cole aka Eddie was born on November 5, 1963, in Jacksonville, Florida to the late Ben Cole and Norma Sims Chapman. Eddie transitioned to eternal rest on the morning of March 25, 2024 in Tampa, Florida.
Eddie attended Wolfson High School in Jacksonville. In his earlier years he worked with Chrome, building water towers across the state of Florida. His most rewarding and proud profession was as a tow truck operator in St. Petersburg, Florida. Prior to his death, Eddie was employed by Fletch Wholesale, delivering flowers in the Tampa area.
Eddie was a gentle giant with a big personality, kind heart, and wonderful sense of humor. He enjoyed fishing, barbecuing, and feeding the homeless. Every weekend he cooked food and donated to a local homeless shelter in Clearwater, Florida. All that knew him, knew that he was a passionate fan of the Miami Dolphins, and his favorite genre of music was rock and roll, especially AC/DC.
In addition to his parents, Eddie was preceded in death by his brothers, Kevin Leroy Cole, and Damiun Jones.
Eddie will be deeply missed by his family, friends, neighbors, and coworkers. He is survived by his significant other, Paula Ellsworth; two sons, Tommy McGuigan, Jr. (Jackie) and Kody Saylor; six brothers, Benjamin Cole, Brian Cole (Trivia), Deangelo Cole, Kenneth Cole, Troy Thomas and Devin Harden; one sister, Krystal Miller; five aunts, Deborah Robinson, Mary Cole (Lucien) Roberts, Dakim Cole, Lorraine Cole Duncan (Bruce), and Jeannette Greer; two uncles, Paul Sims and Zeb Cole; great aunt, Annie Bentley; god sister Anna Bentley Roberts (Larry); special cousin, Antonia Mattear, and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
